This is the main population center in northern areas of Goa and the main town of supplies, if one stays at Anjuna or Vagator. There is not much to see. There is Friday market for shopping by the local citizens.
While coming from Mumbai by bus, you may get down at Mapusa for the northern beaches. Private bus operators provide services to Mumbai and Bangalore opposite to taxi stand.
Local express buses to Panaji are frequently available to Calangute, Anjuna etc. Other buses goes to Chapora, Candolim, Arambol as well.
You can go to THIVIM, which is approx. 12 Kms. away from Mapusa, which is the nearest train station on the Konkan railway. |
