Kheri is also called as Lakhimpur Kheri. It is a district of Uttar Pradesh state of India comes under Lucknow division. Lakhimpur Kheri is controlled by the Comissionary of Lucknow. Kheri shares the boundaries with Shahjahanpur district and Pilibhit district in the west, Behraich district in the east and Hardoi district in the south. Kheri district is along the border with hNepal. Kheri is mainly known for its sugarcane industry. As some of the biggest sugar mills are in the district.
Lakhimur Kheri is famous for cottage industries of incense sticks. From tourism point of view, Kheri is knowm for Dudhwa National Park, the only national park in Uttar Pradesh.
The climate in Kheri district is hot throughout the year except the rainy seasons. Nights are very cold in winters.
