Beypore is 10 kms from Kozhikode town, located at the bank of river Beypore. This is ideal place for outing and picnic. Beypore was formerly known as Vaypura and Vadaparappanad. Beypore is one of the important ports of Kerala, an important trading center, major fishing harbour of Kerala, and famous for boat-building yard.
There are two man made extensions to the sea to facilitate easy access for fishing boats.
