Aruvikkara ...
Aruvikkara is an important pilgrim centre and picnic spot, approximately 16 kms. from Thiruvananthapuram town. Karamana River passes from Aruvikkara. On the bank of this river, there is a rock-shrine, an ancient temple, which is dedicated to 'Bhagavati' Durga, the divine embodiment of Female power.

There are lots of tourist place nearby Aruvikkara and the site of a mini dam. This dam supplies water to the state capital, is worth seeing. This dam is 16kms in north of Thiruvananthapuram. It is gifted with lavish scenic beauty and since 1930; this international renowned beach resort has been a favourite haunt for tourists. On the banks of the river, an ancient temple is situated which is dedicated to Durga.
