Kasturbagram was founded by Mahatma Gandhi and managed by "The Kasturba Gandhi National Memorial Trust", a renowned place in India. It is 8 kms away from Indore city. The main objective of this trust is showing ways of improvement in the quality of village life and welfare of rural woman and children. Some of its many commendable activities are Agriculture Production, Research, Training, Experiment in Fruit Orchards, Social Forestry, New Renewable Source of Energy, Gobar gas (Gas made of Cow Waste by natural process), Better Water Management, Rural Institute for Girls, Village Sanitation Programmes etc.
