Turturiya is the small village, surrounded by forests, is located on the banks of the famous water spring "Turturiya" (means Sursuri Ganga). Turturiya has many Buddhist ruins of the 8th century AD, as well as Brahmanical ruins of a later period. It has many exquisitely sculptured pillars, remains of a brick stupa, traces of bathing ghats, lingams, figures of four armed Vishnu, and Ganesha idols. Turturiya is well connected to Raipur via Balodabazar (113 kms) and Sirpur (102 kms). The Public Works Department runs resthouses at Sirpur and Balodabazar, for those who wants to stay there.
