Nurpur is very famous for its ultimate Old Fort and a temple of Brij Raj. Nurpur acquired its name in 1672, when Jahangir, the Mughal Emperor named it after his wife Nurjahan, 66 kms from Dharamshala. Nurpuri shawls are very popular. There is a PWD rest house for comfortable stay of tourists.
